Transforming supply chain in Indonesia - Tech Seminar

Deputy for Commercial and Industrial Coordination, Elen Setiadi of the Republic of Indonesia Coordinating Ministry For Economic Affairs

Supply chain excellence

The Indonesian government is working to modernize the nation’s supply chain and logistics sector. With a focus on digital technologies, the country aims to go beyond traditional optimization techniques, such as Lean Six Sigma, and to excel in the new technological era of supply chains. The seminar on Optimizing Supply Chain Network Performance, February 26th – 27th, was an important event for both public and private sector organizations involved in these efforts.

Organized by the Republic of Indonesia Coordinating Ministry For Economic Affairs and The Logistics Institute - Asia Pacific, National University of Singapore, the main topic of the seminar was the digital transformation of supply chains. Over 100 people attended a program of commercial, governmental and academic presentations.

The Logistics Institute – Asia Pacific shared tools and strategies for the best use of infrastructure and assets during a humanitarian relief effort. By using supply chain simulation, a decision support framework was developed for ensuring effective disaster response in Indonesia, a nation with 128 active volcanoes – to name just one group of hazards.

Our director of Business Development at The AnyLogic Company, Timofey Popkov, also presented. His Supply Chain Optimization and Simulation - Technology overview is now available for download.

We would like to thank all those who attended for helping to make it such a successful day. We would also like to give special thanks to both the Republic of Indonesia Coordinating Ministry For Economic Affairs and The Logistics Institute – Asia Pacific, National University of Singapore, for organizing the event.

The seminar was part of a series attended by anyLogistix, with further events in Singapore and Bangkok — check them out for Industry 4.0 and Thailand 4.0!
